How to Get on the Plot Waiting List There are 108 garden plots in the back garden. These individual plots are made available to neighborhood residents (defined as those residing between 34th and 59th Streets and 8th Avenue and the Hudson River) as their names move up on the waiting list. To get on the waiting list for a garden plot, send a postcard to Clinton Community Garden, P.O. Box 214, New York, NY 10108-0214. Write your name, address, phone number, and e-mail address on the postcard. Please read about the Plot Assignment Process under Rules & Bylaws.

Membership  All current plot holders (excluding subletters), all past plot holders who are still active and express a wish to the steering committee to remain members, and front bed volunteers are voting members of the garden. Each member is entitled to one vote at any general membership meeting. All members are encouraged to attend the garden’s annual meeting in March. Holding a front garden key does not confer membership.

Volunteer  This garden would not exist without volunteers. If you’d like help out at the garden, please contact us. If you’d like to receive e-mail notification of volunteer opportunities, ask to be added to our e-mail list. Watch for calls-to-volunteer postings on the Web site Calendar page and on our bulletin board and front gate. Starting in the spring, we run monthly volunteer days (dates and times to be posted). This is a great way to get involved in the garden and meet lots of fun—if muddy—people, some of whom might turn out to be your next-door neighbors. If you are waiting for a plot, volunteering is highly recommended. You’ll be able to get your hands in the dirt, learn from longtime gardeners, and find out how the garden is run.
